The excellent corrosion resistant property of epoxy is important especially when the foods to be preserved in cans are acidic like tomatoes or others with acidic additives.
In the field of electronics, epoxy is a leader material. It is engaged in motors, generators, transformers, switchgears, bushings, and insulators. Nowadays, there are already many manufacturers and formulators of epoxy resins in the market offering electrical, mechanical, and chemical superiority of their products. As electronic insulator, it protects electrical components from moisture, dusts and dirt, and it prevents short circuits. In architecture and design, epoxy resins finds its unique applications in decorative floorings such as terrazzo flooring, chip flooring, and colored aggregates flooring.
The usefulness of epoxy does not end in the shine, glitters, and gloss it provides. In biological applications, biological samples such as fossils and other materials like tissues, cells, or organ cultures are commonly embedded in an epoxy-slide for microscopic examinations. It is also used to attach tags or labels to live species that are under scientific studies.
